[문화철도959] 입주작가 양희진 <HAARI>

사물을 설명하지 않는다.

형태가 머무를 수 있는 조건을 놓아둔다.

Objects are not explained.

Conditions are placed for form to remain.

<작가노트>

이 전시는 두 개의 형태를 다룬다. 달항아리와 갓.

둘은 모두 기능을 전제로 만들어졌지만, 여기에서는 여기에서는 달항아리는 내부를 비운 채,

갓은 신체를 지운 상태로 놓여 있다.

비어 있음에도 불구하고 두 형태는 무너지지 않는다.

나는 이 사물들을 표면이나 상징으로 설명하지 않는다.

곡선이 만들어내는 볼륨과 화면 안에서 유지되는 균형만을 남기기 위해,

빛과 암부는 형태가 과도한 의미로 기울어지지 않도록 조정된다.

이 전시는 무엇을 보아야 하는지를 말하지 않는다.

다만 형태가 스스로 머무를 수 있는 조건을,

사진이라는 평면 위에 조용히 놓아둔다.

〈Artist’s Note〉

This exhibition presents two forms: a moon jar and a gat.

Both were created with function in mind, yet here they are placed with that function removed.

The moon jar is shown with its interior emptied,

the gat with the body erased.

Even in their emptiness, neither form collapses.

I do not approach these objects through surface detail or symbolism.

To leave only the volume shaped by curvature and the balance sustained within the frame,

light and shadow are carefully adjusted so that the form does not lean toward excess meaning.

This exhibition does not instruct what to see.

It quietly places the conditions under which form can remain

on the photographic plane.
